Commitment To Quality

FTI is committed to quality and has consistently invested in extensive and innovative product R&D and in acquiring a world-class, in-house knowledge base at the forefront of the optical digital media technology landscape.

We focus on the production of higher-grade, single/double layer products, which re-enforces our positioning as a premium optical media brand.

FTI’s manufacturing process is world-class, using Japanese technologies and materials and adhering to Japanese-Swiss Quality Assurance (QA) standards. We are the first company outside of Japan to produce BD-R and RE discs with Japanese manufacturing code for sales in Japan, and our rigorous approach to “Total Quality” has earned numerous certifications from internationally renowned media certifications bodies and brands, including:

  • ISO9001:2008 accreditation for our manufacturing processes and systems.

  • ISO 14001:2004 accreditation for the environment aspects of our manufacturing processes

  • CE certification (by CE 0425) since 2011 as a “professional device for medical applications”, conforming to the EC Medical Devices Directive (Medical Devices 93/42/CEE) and being recognized by the Italian Ministry of Health

  • Compliance with RoHS (Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical & electronic equipment) standards

  • Compliance with European REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization & Restriction of Chemicals) regulations

  • Format conformance verification from Philips

Benchmark testing and quality control tests under extreme conditions are continuously performed to ensure consistent batch to batch quality and product longevity. Tests versus competitors have shown that FTI products:

  • Show up to 25% better results in accelerated aging test in comparison to any other analogue products

  • Perform extremely well compared to notable competitors in standard industry measurements such as Tracking Errors (41% less errors) and Focus Errors (37% errors)

  • Show an error rate 50% lower compared to notable competitors after 250 hours of extreme environment conditions tests (PISum8)

  • Have excellent cross-compatibility with the major disc drive manufacturers including Pioneer, TEAC, Asus, Samsung and LG.

  • The sustainability of FTI discs and printable layers are superior to competitors before and after testing, with a lower possibility of disc failure based on internal comparison tests.

  • Show minimal disc-to-disc variation on key mechanical deviation measurements (vertical / radial / tangential deviations).
